V-Day Book Chat is Underway!
The ladies (and vagina-friendly gentlemen!) of V-Day Waco invite you
to join our book group. We meet on the fourth Mondays of every month at Barnes & Noble on Waco Drive, at 7
p.m.. Each month, we'll discuss a new selection-- fiction, nonfiction, poetry, everything under the sun-- based
on women's themes.
The V-Day book club supports the efforts of the Red Door Project. Each month, starting in May, we will
collect canned goods and basic necessities for Waco's Red Door Project Food Pantry, a charity that provides support
for victims of HIV/AIDS in Waco, including women and children.

November 24: Pope Joan
by Donna W. Cross
"For a thousand years men have denied her existence--Pope Joan, the woman who disguised herself as a man and
rose to rule Christianity for two years. Now this compelling novel animates the legend with a portrait of an unforgettable
woman who struggles against restrictions her soul cannot accept." -- Rebecca Fraser
This month's book club selection has it-- intrigue, suspense, love, politics, and of course, women's issues. We'll
meet to discuss it on Monday November 24 at 7 p.m. at the Waco Drive Barnes & Noble. Everyone is welcome, so
bring a friend! |

December 15: Bridget Jones' Diary
Note that this is an alternate date, due to the holidays.
"Newspaper columnist Fielding's first effort, a bestseller in Britain, lives
up to the hype: This year in the life of a single women is closely observed and laugh-out-loud funny . . . Fielding's
diarist raises prickly insecurities to an art form, turns bad men into good anecdotes, and shows that it is possible
to have both a keen eye for irony and a generous heart."
